Author Biography:

Nancy Warren Ferrell is an accomplished author, having written a dozen adult and children’s books with significant research on many topics, such as the Coast Guard, fishing, amateur radio, etc. With a background in library work, she has always had an interest in people, history and travel. These interests have led her to focus her writing on non-fiction subject matter, particularly pertaining to the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. In addition to writing books, she has also contributed articles to numerous periodicals for children and adults.

A member of various writing organizations and historical societies, Nancy has given writing presentations for the past twenty-plus years.

Also an avid traveler, she has visited all corners of the world, including Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Russia, Mexico, Canada, Greece, Turkey, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, plus areas in Alaska and the U.S.

Now retired, Nancy worked at the Juneau Public Library from 1980 to 1996. She has lived in Juneau, Alaska, for the past thirty years. Nancy is married to retired Juneau high school English teacher Ed Ferrell, and together they raised their twins Patricia and William.
