Description: River of Tears enters the heart of the two women in the life of an impassioned man who took part in the massacre at Bute Inlet. It explores the impact of the coming of the white man on this one family and the circumstances that prompted the Chilcotin Indians to kill. Piele, the husband, father and son, works on Alfred Waddington's grandiose "highway to heaven" from Bute Inlet to the goldfields in Interior BC - and pays the price. It is with the two women that we share the adventure, the anguish, and the love.
